This is one of the many toughs that went through my mind during the betrayal scene, and it is one I haven’t seen out there yet.
Hans was unexpectedly decent for someone who was mercilessly crushing Anna’s illusion of him. Stay with me, let me explain why.
He leaned forward for the kiss and he stopped, well aware it would not work since he did not love her. He stopped and went for the full disclosure of the cruel truth.
By that point Hans was sure Anna was as good as dead so he revealed his cruelty, but he somehow chose not to kiss her. We could argue it was not worth trying, but why would Hans care about that when he did not care about Anna.
He could have kissed her and, upon “the true love’s kiss” not working, drop all his pretenses, leaving Anna in an even worse state because she had just kissed the man who was proclaiming to have never loved her. Imagine what having shared such tender moment with Hans would make her feel as he left her alone locking the door behind him.
Let it sink in.
Had Anna died, she would’ve done so feeling the flavor of his betrayal on her lips.
Had she lived, she would forever remember the taste of treachery of her (most certainly) first kiss.
In the end Hans not kissing Anna was the most decent thing he could have done, given it would be much crueler of him if he had. Of course he was still a cold blooded bastard, but I never denied that.
OMG. He could have been a bigger douche after all.
Can you image? Hans, super-douche-evil-Hans smirking inside, knowing that it wouldn’t work, but still ravaging her lips and leaving her breathless, just to SMACK her with the truth/reveal right after. That would be so disgusting that i would punch him myself.
If that happened, this ship would never EVER stay afloat. It would be deeeeeep down in the ocean, with all of Ariel’s treasures.
But it didn’t.
He was slightly decent. An charming douche, if you may.
Ahhhh, now i like him even more. A villain with a code ( ; u ; ) A messed up code but still, ahahahah! What a great villain, yeeeesiry <3
